Imlil (1,740m) is the Berber gateway village to Mount Toubkal and the trekking capital of the High Atlas, just 65km and about 90 minutes from Marrakech. Walnut groves, terraced fields and mule tracks replace city noise within minutes of leaving the road. It fits into a Royal Morocco Trips journey as an easy guided day hike, the starting point of every Toubkal summit trek, or an overnight base for multi-day Atlas valley treks.
Trip length: A full-day hike from Marrakech; 2 days if continuing to the Toubkal refuge; 2–3 days for valley-to-valley treks with village overnights.
