Morocco Geology & Rock Formation Tour 3-Day

Destinations: Dades Valley, Todra Gorge, Ouarzazate · Duration: 3 days · Difficulty: Easy · Group size: Up to 10

The landscapes south of the Atlas are a geologist’s paradise, where hundreds of millions of years of earth history are laid bare in folded strata, deep gorges and fossil-rich beds. This three-day tour, led by a geologist guide, decodes that spectacular story across the Dades and Todra gorges and the pre-Saharan plateaux.

You examine the famous "Monkey Fingers" formations of the Dades, the towering canyon walls of Todra, and the fossil beds that make southern Morocco world-renowned among collectors. It is an illuminating journey that transforms scenery into a readable record of deep time.

This 3 days journey is led by licensed local guides who grew up in South Morocco, giving you privileged access to the "valley of a thousand kasbahs" and the rose town of Kelaat M’Gouna alongside honest, unhurried travel. Every detail — comfortable private transport, hand-picked accommodation and authentic meals — is arranged so you can simply relax and take it in.

It is perfect for active travellers and keen hikers who want a genuine, well-run experience rather than a rushed coach tour. Small groups, transparent pricing and flexible planning mean the trip flexes around you.
