Todra Gorge — South Morocco. Sheer 300m canyon walls beloved by climbers.
The Todra (Toudgha) Gorge is a 300-metre limestone canyon near the oasis town of Tinehir, where the walls nearly touch at the narrows and a spring-fed river runs beneath them. It fits into a Royal Morocco Trips journey as the dramatic morning walk on 3–5 day Sahara itineraries, and as trekking country — kasbah trails, palmeries and nomad villages — on our 2-day Todra Gorge & Dades Valley trek.
Trip length: A short guided walk (about 1–1.5 hours) on desert-route tours; 2 days on the Todra & Dades trek with a guesthouse night.
Travel rhythm: On Sahara tours, an early-morning walk through the narrows before the drive to the dunes; on the trek, full days on gorge and palmerie trails.
Who it suits: All travellers on desert routes; trekkers should be comfortable walking 4–6 hours.
Fitness & mobility: The narrows walk is flat and easy on a paved track; trekking routes are moderate mountain trails.
What needs confirmation: Guesthouse nights and trekking arrangements are confirmed with your booking request.
About 1–1.5 hours on a flat track beside the river to the narrows, where the 300m walls nearly meet — an easy walk that our Sahara tours include as a morning stop.
It lies between the Dades Valley and the final desert drive to Merzouga, and it is the most dramatic short walk on the whole route — sheer canyon walls, a spring-fed river and an oasis mouth.
Yes — our 2-day Todra Gorge & Dades Valley trek walks between kasbahs, palmeries and nomad villages with a local guesthouse night.
