Not everyone wants to summit Toubkal, and the Imlil valley offers some of the most beautiful and accessible walking in the High Atlas. This two-day trek is designed for those who want mountain scenery and Berber culture at a relaxed pace.
You walk between traditional villages, through terraced fields and walnut groves, with a local guide sharing insights into mountain life. Nights are spent in a warm village guesthouse with home-cooked food and unforgettable sunset views.
It suits reasonably active walkers and families, and can be combined with other Atlas or desert tours.

Marrakech to Imlil · Imlil to Mount Toubkal. Roads are paved mountain roads with hairpin bends up to the trailhead, and we build in regular photo and comfort stops so the journey is part of the experience. Exact drive times depend on your route and pace and are confirmed with your booking.
You stay in Mountain refuge / Berber gite. Rooms are private with en-suite bathrooms unless noted. Upgrades to higher-category riads, hotels or luxury camps are available — just ask when booking.

No technical climbing is involved, but a good level of fitness helps. The itinerary is paced to aid acclimatisation, your guide monitors everyone closely, and we descend at the first sign of altitude sickness. Stay hydrated, walk slowly and you will do well.

April–October for the high peaks (winter summits require crampons and experience). Cool mountain air, strong sun by day and near-freezing nights at altitude. Spring and autumn are the busiest and most beautiful; book early for these months. Summer is quieter inland due to heat, winter quieter on the coast.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel and medical insurance for every guest. For this tour, insurance covering trekking/cycling and mountain rescue is mandatory.
