Erg Chigaga is the largest and most remote dune field in Morocco, reached only by 4x4 across open desert. This four-day tour is for travellers who want the real, untamed Sahara.
Beyond the end of the tarmac at M’Hamid, you cross rocky hammada and sand tracks to the towering dunes of Chigaga, where a desert camp sits in splendid isolation. Nights here are among the darkest and most star-filled you will ever see.
The journey there is an adventure in itself, through kasbahs, oases and the ever-changing colours of the pre-Saharan south.
Abfahrt Marrakesch 07:30. Hohen Atlas über den Tizi-n’Tichka-Pass, Halt am Aït Ben Haddou (UNESCO-Ksar). Übernachtung in Ouarzazate.
Draa-Tal durch Palmenoasen und Kasbahs nach M’Hamid. Nachmittags 4x4-Überquerung zum Erg-Chigaga-Camp (2–3 Std.). Ankunft zum Sonnenuntergang.

Vormittag an den Dünen, dann 4x4 zurück nach M’Hamid und panoramische Fahrt nach Zagora zur letzten Gästehausnacht.
Rückfahrt nordwärts durch die Palmoase, optionaler Töpferei-Halt in Tamegroute, Atlasüberquerung und Ankunft in Marrakesch am frühen Abend.

October–April for comfortable desert days; spring and autumn are ideal. Warm sunny days and cold, star-filled nights; summer midday heat can exceed 40°C. Spring and autumn are the busiest and most beautiful; book early for these months. Summer is quieter inland due to heat, winter quieter on the coast.
