Rif Mountains Trekking 3-Day

Destinations: Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen, Akchour · Duration: 3 days · Difficulty: Challenging · Group size: Up to 10

The Rif is Morocco’s forgotten mountain range — greener, wetter and wilder than the Atlas, and barely touched by trekkers. This three-day point-to-point route ventures deep into the Talassemtane National Park, a landscape of endemic cedar and fir, limestone peaks and hidden hamlets.

You walk village to village, welcomed into homes and guesthouses where hospitality is heartfelt and the food is home-grown. Each day links high passes and forest paths with panoramic ridges, your mule support carrying the loads so you carry only a daypack.

The trek culminates in the Akchour gorge, with its emerald pools and the famous God’s Bridge, before returning to Chefchaouen. It is a genuine wilderness adventure for fit walkers who want a Morocco far off the tourist trail.
