Morocco Ornithology & Birdwatching Tour 5-Day

Destinations: Merzouga, Ouarzazate, Agadir · Duration: 5 days · Difficulty: Easy · Group size: Up to 8

Morocco is one of the Western Palearctic’s finest birding destinations, where African, European and desert species overlap across dramatically varied habitats. This five-day tour is led by an expert ornithologist and targets the country’s star birds across the desert edge, mountain wadis, wetlands and Atlantic coast.

You seek out specialities such as the desert sparrow, cream-coloured courser, Moussier’s redstart, greater flamingo and the elusive Egyptian nightjar, with early starts timed for peak activity. Comfortable stays and small numbers make this a rewarding trip for keen birders and photographers alike.

This 5 days journey is led by licensed local guides who grew up in Sahara, giving you privileged access to a Saharan village beside Erg Chebbi, home to Amazigh and Gnaoua musical traditions alongside honest, unhurried travel. Every detail — comfortable private transport, hand-picked accommodation and authentic meals — is arranged so you can simply relax and take it in.

It is perfect for discerning travellers who value comfort and service who want a genuine, well-run experience rather than a rushed coach tour. Small groups, transparent pricing and flexible planning mean the trip flexes around you.
