Where the Sahara slides into the Atlantic, a vast shallow lagoon spreads out in impossible shades of turquoise. Dakhla’s reliable side-shore wind and flat, waist-deep water make it arguably the best place on earth to learn kitesurfing — and a playground for those who already fly.
This four-day experience is built around daily coaching on the lagoon, from complete-beginner kite control to riding upwind and, for the experienced, freestyle and wave sessions on the ocean side. The safe, standable water means faster progress and softer landings.
Off the water, you stay at a laid-back lagoon camp where the desert meets the sea, sharing meals, sunsets and stories with a small international crowd. It is remote, elemental and utterly addictive.
Transfer to the lagoon camp, settle in and start with kite control on the beach and in shallow water.
Progress to body-dragging and your first water starts on the flat lagoon.
Work on riding, staying upwind and building control, or advanced skills for experienced kiters.

Dakhla has an airport with domestic connections; we include transfers from there to the lagoon camp.

Dakhla is famous for dependable side-shore wind most days, which is exactly why it is a kitesurfing mecca.
On the rare still day we use the time for theory, downwind SUP or lagoon excursions, and prioritise coaching when the wind returns.
Return transfers to Dakhla. Roads are well-maintained coastal highways, and we build in regular photo and comfort stops so the journey is part of the experience. Exact drive times depend on your route and pace and are confirmed with your booking.
You stay in 5★ luxury / boutique riad. Rooms are private with en-suite bathrooms unless noted. Upgrades to higher-category riads, hotels or luxury camps are available — just ask when booking.

Cancellations made more than 30 days before departure receive a full refund of the balance paid. Between 30 and 14 days, 50% is refundable. Within 14 days the deposit is non-refundable. April–November for warm, breezy coast days. Mild, breezy Atlantic climate year-round; water stays cool. Spring and autumn are the busiest and most beautiful; book early for these months. Summer is quieter inland due to heat, winter quieter on the coast.
