Sicurezza in Marocco: criminalità, salute e sicurezza in viaggio

Frequently asked questions

Is Morocco safe for tourists?

Yes. Morocco is one of North Africa’s most visited and generally safe countries, with a well-developed tourism industry. The main issues are minor scams and persistent touts rather than serious crime.

Is Morocco safe for solo female travellers?

Many women travel Morocco solo successfully. Dressing modestly, walking confidently, using licensed guides and trusting your instincts all help. Street harassment can occur but is usually verbal and non-threatening.

What are the emergency numbers in Morocco?

The police can be reached on 19 in cities and 177 for the gendarmerie in rural areas, while 15 is the number for medical emergencies and ambulances.

Do I need vaccinations for Morocco?

No special vaccinations are required for most travellers, but it is wise to be up to date on routine jabs and to consult a travel clinic about hepatitis A and typhoid depending on your plans.
