Clothing essentials
- 2–3 lightweight, loose-fitting long-sleeved shirts (sun and cultural modesty)
- Lightweight trousers or convertible hiking pants (not shorts for conservative areas)
- 1 fleece or light down jacket (cold evenings year-round in mountains/desert)
- Rain jacket (spring and winter)
- Modest swimwear for coastal trips
- Comfortable walking shoes or low-cut hiking boots
- Sandals for riad and camp evenings
For mountain trekking (add)
- Stiff-soled hiking boots (mandatory for Toubkal)
- Trekking poles
- Warm thermal base layer
- Warm hat and gloves (essential above 3,000m)
- Waterproof layer
- 3-season sleeping bag or liner (refuge night)
For desert travel (add)
- Shesh (desert scarf) or buff — protects from sand and sun
- Light sleeping bag liner (desert nights are cold October–March)
- Headtorch for camp navigation
- Dry bag for electronics and valuables
- Closed shoes (not sandals) for camel riding

- Passport valid 6+ months beyond return date
- Travel insurance documents and emergency number
- Tour confirmation and hotel vouchers (offline copies)
- Mix of card and cash in Moroccan dirham
- Colour copy of passport photo page stored separately
