Mountain Biking Trails in Morocco: Where to Ride

Karim Zouiten · 7 min · Cycling

Morocco’s High Atlas and desert pistes offer some of North Africa’s best off-road riding.

The High Atlas around Marrakech offers a huge network of mule tracks and singletrack descents through Berber villages, walnut groves and terraced fields — ideal for intermediate to advanced riders.

For gravel riders, the pistes linking the Agafay Desert to the Atlas foothills offer long, flowing routes with big mountain views and minimal traffic.

A support vehicle is standard on most guided rides here, meaning you can push harder on the technical sections knowing a lift is available if needed.

Spring and autumn offer the best trail conditions; summer heat at lower elevations can be punishing, so guided rides often shift higher into the mountains during those months.
