This southern 10-day loop explores the best of southern Morocco and the Atlantic coast: Marrakech, a Sahara desert loop, the rose-red Anti-Atlas around Taroudant, and the breezy Atlantic coast at Essaouira and Taghazout. It is a great choice for spring and autumn, and a flexible one — the coast works year-round, so you can lean coastal in summer when the desert is too hot.
Days 1–2 — Marrakech
Two days in the Red City: a guided medina day (palaces, souks, Jemaa el-Fnaa) and a free day for the Majorelle Garden, a hammam or an Agafay sunset dinner. Two days gives you city depth before heading south.
Days 3–5 — Sahara Loop
A three-day Sahara loop to Merzouga: Aït Ben Haddou and the Dades Valley on day 3, Todra Gorge and the camel trek into Erg Chebbi on day 4, sunrise and the drive south-west on day 5. The desert night in a camp under the stars is the centrepiece.
Days 6–7 — Anti-Atlas & Taroudant
Head west through the Anti-Atlas to Taroudant, a relaxed walled town often called "Little Marrakech" without the crowds. Explore its souks and ramparts, and the nearby argan country and Berber villages. Two quiet days in genuine southern Morocco.
Days 8–9 — Atlantic Coast
Continue west to the Atlantic. Essaouira offers a UNESCO medina, ramparts, harbour and seafood; Taghazout is Morocco's surf capital with world-class point breaks. Choose one (or split between them) for two relaxed coastal days.
Day 10 — Return & Departure
A short drive up the coast to Agadir or back to Marrakech for your departure. If you fly out of Marrakech, an Agafay sunset dinner makes a fitting finale.
