This 2-day Essaouira-to-Marrakech itinerary is a relaxed coastal-to-mountain route — a final Essaouira morning, the scenic drive through argan country, and a full Marrakech or Atlas day. It is the ideal way to travel from the coast back to the city, pairing the Atlantic with the Red City or the High Atlas.
Day 1 — Essaouira to Marrakech
A relaxed morning in Essaouira — a final walk on the ramparts, a harbour coffee, or beach time. Then the 2.5–3 hour drive east through argan country, stopping at a women's argan cooperative. Arrive in Marrakech and settle into a medina riad. An evening at Jemaa el-Fnaa.
Day 2 — Marrakech Medina or Atlas Day Trip
A full day, your choice: a guided Marrakech medina day (palaces, souks, Jemaa el-Fnaa) if you have not yet seen the city, or an Atlas day trip to Imlil or the Ourika Valley for a green mountain contrast to the coast. The tour ends in Marrakech — extend with a Sahara desert loop if time allows.
